After a few days in Park City with G&G we headed north into Idaho for the Kellogg Family Reunion. The lodge was a circular lodge with 20 beds upstairs in an open loft, 3
game rooms behind the fireplace upstairs (movie room, pool room and ping
pong room). Downstairs the 10 bedrooms circled around behind the
fireplace. The kitchen, two bathrooms and laundry room lined the wall
just by the entrance and in the middle was the dining room and living
space.
I was so excited because I had a ton of girl cousins my age. And there was a fun playhouse under the stairs for us to play in.
We got along great and played, did crafts and ate together for the next 4 days.
Part of the quick ease with everyone was the Nerf War that was going on when we arrived and which continued that whole first night. It got the dads involved and broke the ice for all the kids.
I didn't shoot any guns, but I did help D and G with the ammo so that they could fight the tweens!
While the wild antics were going on all around (mostly in the open loft upstairs) the rest of the family hung out in the living area, talking or looking at the Kellogg family picture board.
Upstairs we divided up by age group. I was with my 4-6 year old cousins near the entrance. Near the stairs were the 10 year old girls and near the other stairwell were the boys.
C got to sleep in Room 3 with M&D.
We were close enough to Yellowstone that 2 days we went into the park to sightsee. The kitchen was a busy place in the morning as sack lunches were put together, which tasted very good eaten in the park.
I even got to hold it.
The last morning we took pictures of everyone. The Boerner contingent of the Kellogg family reunion.
G and her siblings. Only 2 brothers were not able to make it.
2nd Generation--M and some of her cousins.
3rd Generation
The whole Kellogg Family
That afternoon we played Olympic games. We started with the torch run--from staircase to staircase.
Then we did all the field games that an Olympics would have--relay races, "javelin" throw, discus throw, crab walks, etc.
We even had a closing ceremony where we all got medals.
We even had a chance to fly some kites.
For the talent show the last night, my cousins and I did a dance.
M's aunt recited a beautiful poem about her mother (M's grandma).
Thanks for all the wonderful memories. See you next time around.
