Bennett Christmas

C had a little program the very last day before Christmas break.
They sang about 4 songs with actions.

Santa even came to visit.  He was flying over and heard his song, "Santa Claus is coming to town", so he just had to drop in and visit.
It was a cute little program and quite challenging for the teachers to get 15 3&4 year olds lined up ready to sing, but the kiddos did a great job.

Marathon of posts

So M is a little behind in posting all our adventures.  Below you will find the catch-up (a little out of order as the Christmas letter was posted on time).  The last 6 months, M has been so busy and stressed--which she just realized after actually having a relaxing week and weekend!  What with life during the flood and not having time on the weekend other than to wash laundry and repack, then long commutes for a month before our normal road opened, then Christmas activities the month of December, then audit prep at work which means long hours and some weekends.  So what time M did have, she tried to spend as much time as possible with us and enjoy life.  We did have some fun and I hope you enjoy all the pictures M is about to post from the last 6 months of adventures!!!

First Movie

M&D have been meaning to get me to a movie sometime in the last year now that I sat through movies at home sometimes and didn't run off every 15 minutes, but we just never seemed to make it.  Finally in December, with the new Disney princess movie that came out we were able to go to the movie theater for the first time.
C and I were very excited, but M kept warning us that we had to sit still and be quiet the whole movie.  She didn't need to worry!
We had popcorn and drinks and the movie was so good, that we sat and watched the whole thing--only having to get up once to use the restroom.
Since then, C has been singing and dancing with all her preschool friends all the songs to the movie Frozen.  I guess D knows that when it comes out on DVD, he will need to buy it for us!

Christmas program

In December, the first graders had their music program.  I was so excited to share my singing talent with my parents.

My class sang, did actions, and played some music while the teacher recited a poem.

After the concert, I took time to get a picture with my teacher, Ms. Richardson.
My friend P was also singing, so we took our picture together also!

Ice skating party

My best friend P had an ice skating party for her 7th birthday.  It was so much fun.

C had a little bit of trouble staying up!
After a few times around I was doing really good.  M even convinced me that now that I knew how to ice skate, I could really try roller skating at the Y and not just run around the rink.

Thanksgiving Skiing

Uncle W moved in with us in mid-November and the day after Thanksgiving he took us skiing.  We both had lessons last year, but M wasn't sure how we would do the first time out.  But she needn't have worried.  I took to it like I knew exactly what I was doing and with C being on the trainer, we all did just fine.
Enjoying riding the lift.  M spent the day with us girls on the green runs, while Uncle W went and explored the rest of the mountain runs.

Hanging out waiting for Uncle W to finish!

Day at the Museum

One Saturday, we headed down to Denver and the Children's museum.  It's a fun place for us to explore and dress up and play pretend.

We even got to be inside a bubble!
The vacuum sucked up the scarfs and they flew out at the top!
C even was able to give a pet puppy and much needed trim!

The best part was shooting the paper rockets over the planets.

Welcome Home!

Since we didn't have time to carve any pumpkins before Halloween--what with our CA trip and long weeks at the Y, we decided to treat D to a Welcome his girls home dinner!  B had gotten a pumpkin at school and while D was at work, we carved the pumpkin out and made him his favorite dessert--pumpkin pie with no crust!

We even bought him a cards and some flowers.  You can't tell that we were super excited to be home for good!!!
In addition, we made homemade pizza for him that night.

Halloween

Our Halloween is always two times, as the Saturday before we go downtown and trick-or-treat at all the stores.

We also enjoyed some fall leaves.  There's nothing like the sound of dry, crunch leaves to make the fall really fun!
Our very last morning at the Y was Halloween.  After a good breakfast of cereal we headed to school in our costumes.  M had a cat and mouse!
Leopard cat B.
and Minnie Mouse C.
C got to trick-or-treat around the Y and made a visit to M's office.
C and her preschool class!
We even made it home in time to trick-or-treat with D around the neighborhood!
